Cornelius Burges or Burgess (1589?-1665) entered Oxford University in 1611. His first college is unknown, but he transferred to Wadham, and then Lincoln College (B.A, 1615; M.A., 1618). He was appointed vicar of Watford, Hertfordshire, in 1613. He retained this living on becoming rector of St Magnus, London Bridge, in 1626, and served as rector until 1641.
